Concept
According to scientific work by Paul Ekman the human emotions consists out of six basic emotions. This series of paintings is about those six emotions. Every emotion is brought back to the basics using three equally long and wide diagonal stripes used for the eyes and mouth. Along with these stripes a colored cube is used that strengthen te meaning of the emotions.
Background Story

made these paintings after visiting de Gemeentemuseum in the Hague which
has one of the largest Mondrian collections in the world.
